About the Author
Peter G. Ossorio (1926-2007) was Professor of Psychology at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After receiving his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UCLA in 1961, he joined the clinical psychology faculty in Boulder where he taught, supervised, mentored, wrote and conducted research for his entire academic career, and where he founded a discipline that came to be known as Descriptive Psychology. The substance and practice of Descriptive Psychology includes significant work in the fields of psychotherapy, clinical case formulation and diagnosis, the psychology of relationships, teaching of moral judgment, virtues, theology, spirituality, multicultural psychology, artistic and literary analysis, business management, marketing, organization theory and practice, artificial intelligence, and automatic document retrieval and the list continues to grow.

5 stars are not nearly enough

If you have ANY interest in Psychology, Philosophy or understanding yourself and your fellow man buy this book, read it and re-read it again every year. Peter Ossorio is the most important psychologist you never heard of. Descriptive Psychology is the most important school of thought you never heard of. There are 5 other titles in his collected works, but this is the only one accessible to the uninitiated. I could not begin to summarize this work but I can restate the slogans by which it lives:
(1) The world makes sense and so do people. They make sense now.
(2) It is one world. Everything fits together. Everything is related to everything else.
(3) Things are what they are and not something else instead.
(4) Don't count on the world being simpler than it has to be.

Poorly written and unintelligible

I highly recommend Waldo Vieira's other book, "Projections of Consciousness," but not "Projectiology." "Projectiology" is not ready for prime time. It's so poorly written and edited as to be unintelligible. Perhaps, it's an extremely poor translation--I don't know. But what I could understand of the book was abstract and general, with few or no examples, and so was pretty useless. And most of it, I actually couldn't understand.

On the other hand, "Projections of Consciousness" by the same author is interesting and informative. I also highly recommend a book by an instructor who teaches the techniques for Out-of-Body Experiences developed by Vieira, "Demystifying the Out-of-Body Experience" by Luis Minero. In fact, Minero's book is the most helpful of the five books that I've read about how to have an OBE. I've had two OBE's by using this book plus taking a series of workshops offered by the International Academy of Consciousness based on Vieira's techniques.

Look at the Customer images, that's about it,.. you just saved 44.00.

After reading a multitude of positive reviews, and only a handfull of poor reviews, I ponied up the 44.00 plus shipping. After recieving it, I am certain that the flood of positive reviews have been artificially created to water down the legitimate reviews. Here is the real deal,.. what you get. In my opinion, you do not get what you pay for. The book itself is a very well put together paperback with slip cover. It is printed on high quality parchment paper with a decent quality of print. So for anyone who thinks their book was photo copied,.. It probably was. The book itself was well put together, and as far as quality, would be above my expectations for an instructional manual. The content however is extremely lacking in instruction. I am not saying nothing can be learned, but if there weren't a famous artist's name attatched to it,.. I would expect to pay around 5 dollars for the content, which is as follows: a few pages of forward, stating the Artist is super great at freehand script, (DUH), one,.. single,.. page of actual instruction (seen in customer images), three pages of one Alphabet, and two variations. And 30 or so pages of examples of what can be done with that alphabet. That's it. The basic idea of the entire book,.. Draw three guidelines, draw thin guidelines from the provided alphabet, then sculpt the lines, and add flourishes. The reason I find vary little value in this, is that this alphabet, along with 100's of thousands of other alphabets can be found online, and traced right off the internet for FREE!?!?! The reason I paid the premium price, is not because I am in love with the artist,.. or because I was without access to a proper scripted alphabet to trace,.. I bought the book because it touted itself as the number one refference and instructional manual on freehand tattoo script. If one page of instruction is the best you can do,.. Please,.. For shame Boog,.. and shame on the publisher. What they have done is advertised false expectations, wrapped it in a nice package,.. and laughed all the way to the bank. I will never purchase anything associated with the artist Boog again, and will hold a grudge against both him and the publisher for being horrible, dirty liars. Again, one hundred and ten percent of the info in this book is available on the internet,.. and more. I am very interested in looking toward the BJ Bett's sketch books, and it looks like Amazon has a 3 volume set for 90 dollars. I am hoping that there will be more than one measley page of instruction, and theory. Up stroke, downstroke, how do you prefer to sculpt the lines, etc.. I know how to sculpt lines,.. but when I pay 44 freakin dollars to a famous artist,.. I expect to know what their prefference is, and how they would tackle it. I have learned more in 20 seconds of youtube tutorials on handwriting, than this entire book. Furthermore, I have been enriched by the life stories and biographies of many of the worlds leading artists,.. again,.. for free,... by either watching freely provided online video, or articles and blogs they have written. They didn't charge me a dime,.. And I respect them for that. I don't expect things for free, but when you charge me money, give me something I can't find for free after 10 seconds of searching the net,.. seriously.
As for the book seller,.. kudo's to you, qualified for Amazon prime 2 day shipping which is always a plus, came packaged well, and in mint condition. Thanks guys! As for the author and publisher,.. Boog = LAME! I would much rather you steal my money in person,.. at the very least it would add a sort of personal touch, and also display some sort of effort on your part,.. instead of unraveling the scraps in the waste basket next to your sketch desk, and trying to sell them as an instructional manual.

amazing OUTLAW TEXTBOOK for all tattoo artists

I'm a tattoo artist whose long time clientele asks for a lot of old english and script lettering... Get it? Never used computer fonts, always drawn for the customer. Nobody (almost) makes up their own lettering styles from whole cloth, it all comes from somewhere. My big old english letters come from several pages of an old german design textbook--- I take a little from this chart, a little from that one, so it comes out cool and unique. Script was a different matter. For too long my script looked like the lettering chart above the blackboard in the 4th grade! My script improved when, a few years ago,I started studying other artists work, primarily hispanic artists. When I stumbled on this book and ordered it, the potential for expanding your lettering skills exponentially is all there! Which is exactly what happened... Only shows you how to do basic cursive

The book only explains step by step how to draw basic script cursive. The book shows other types of lettering like old english and block lettering with no instructions for those. Kind of dissappointing when your wanting to learn different styles, you end up only getting one.

EXCELLENT SOURCE OF IDEAS FOR CANCER PATIENTS!

Bond gives a heartfelt account of her mother's cancer journey peppered with practical facts. I found their experience extremely helpful in my own cancer journey. I'm not against traditional treatment, but I am deemed "incurable" by the establishment. I refuse to believe that I can't cure myself by getting to the source of the cancer and reversing the factors that lead me to illness. I gained many ideas on how to heal from "Mum's Not Having Chemo". Bond's writing is smart, funny, and enjoyable. It's an excellent read if you're looking beyond modern medicine...and if you have cancer you should be looking beyond traditional treatment for your own sake.

Case Interviewer - A phenomenal author

This author should be getting paid by the firms who hire users of this book. The reader will indeed hit the ground running on day one as an consultant.

Before you even begin to read - the author offers bonus tools that will assist the reader with achieving their objectives. Additionally, current informative feedback from former readers of the book are inspirational for the consultant job hunter.

This book is a great tool for anyone who wants to get over the hurdles. It is alarming how many minutes it takes to actually knock yourself out of a job opportunity. The author states that " the interview is essentially over even before it has begun"; this reveals how critical it is to answer case questions.

The best quote for a job seeker " the candidate who stands out the most in an interview is the one who acts like a consultant already." This book will get you there. He will show you a core problem solving tool that can be used during an interview as well as on the job.

This book has ample examples that will get you through the interview process. You can't put a price on the value of information that you will learn to enhance your own career.

The author emphasis is that "if you hate case interviews then you likely will hate the job."

Excellent resource, but not complete with free practice problems

There are a number of resources out there that can be used to prepare for a case interview. I am very glad I chose this one. Victor Cheng does a great job making the case interview relatable and manageable by teaching how to think like a consultant. The book is fairly light and easy-to-read, but packed with good information. To provide an example, I went to a case interview workshop yesterday with a large consulting firm, and I felt well-versed in the principles that they taught after reading just half of Case Interview Secrets.

I do wish there were more practice materials that were included with the book or free supplementary materials. Victor's website and emails are great- he does an incredible job maintaining his website and provide daily updates that are useful to read. So sign up for his website and use the materials. Nevertheless, It does seem like part of its purpose is to get you to buy his many programs, which, to be fair, seem extremely thorough and well made. I just do not have the funding to spend $100 on a (seemingly very high-quality) resume builder aid.

In short, buy the book, use the book, and you will feel much more confident about your upcoming case interview.

Recommended first read for consulting interview preparation

I started my case practice with other case materials and books, but I always ended up getting "good but not there yet" feedback. After going through this book, the biggest advantage I got was understanding what every piece of case interview means. Why am I supposed to develop an hypothesis early? Why I need to be structured? Why unnecessary delving costs money or "job" in my scenario? and What it means to be a consultant? It really helped me to radically change my approach for case interviews. Instead of mindlessly doing tons of cases, I started spending more time on reviewing the case I did against the benchmark I developed after reading this book. Voila!! I "understood" what they look for in the interviews. Having a good business intuition and problem solving is one thing, but for a career switcher like me, understanding how to channel and highlight that talent in consulting world is a different beast altogether. If you are just like me then this is the first book you should start with if you decide to pursue consulting as a career. Mind you, this book doesn't have cases for you to practice, but it will provide you a good foundation to think in the right direction to approach a case.

A Brave Quest

This is a beautiful story of one woman's search for her family roots and history. Never giving up, she uncovers the truth about the trail of events that makes the past more clear and meaningful. With many unanswered questions the author has about her Oneida heritage, she embarks on a thirteen year information gathering that brings her much satisfaction. In her book she brings to light the ugliness of a dominate people's oppression of another group, that is, the original people of this continent. One may be grieved to learn about the insensitivity of the United States and Canadian governments in their treatment of the tribes scattered throughout. The beauty and culture was disregarded and mostly destroyed by relocation, and the children forced into places of re-education to assimilate into the 'civilized' way of life. Still, driven for knowing the truth, the author succeeds and conveys a family's personal history with much meaning and beauty.

Winston Graham was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and in 1983 was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). He died in 2003.

A wonderful book

I love the Poldark series. This one is a little bit slower, though things are happening and quite a lot. Demelza and Ross deal with their relationship and it is interesting how the author writes about the marriage and love from the male and female's perspective. Demelza who married very young and also who did not have much exposure always considered Ross the center of her world. The man who brought her to light by giving her a chance in life and showed her how a man could be. Ross if flawed, but he is fair and honest and very interesting. She is such a great partner for him and I am always so proud of her. Demelza meets Hugh, a young man who was rescued by Ross in France. He is romantic and poetic, someone completely different in her life and someone who writes poems to her. It was always Demelza who loved more and Ross who was choosing. Suddenly, it is Demelza who is drawn to another man. I thought that part was wonderful. There are more stories there, funny as usual with complex characters, but I love the two the most.

Another great book in series

Five stars because of the vastness and intricacy in plot and character development. This book just adds to an already amazing saga. I enjoy, and laugh, at the idiosyncrasies of each character. I love seeing the back and forth between Ross and George. The story and characters seem like real people to me. I read this is a couple days-I just can't seem to get enough Poldark!

#6 OF A GREAT SERIES. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I am reading all of the Poldark series, having been hooked on the characters through the PBS TV series. The books are even richer as the author writes wonderful descriptions of the landscape and crisp thumbnail sketches as he introduces new characters. Each can be read alone as the author catches a new reader up on what has happened to the characters in prior books in the first 1-3 chapters of the newest book. I have just started #8 and will be going on through #12 as I can't wait to see what happens next and how the stories of all these people wind up. Also, you can't help but pick up quite a bit of English history, one of my favorite subjects.
