Part 2 was ok

I liked part 1, but felt that part 2 was a bit too much. I can't believe that 2 professional sports players plotted and started the drama in Khalil and Tamiko's marriage. Just not feeling the route the story took. Also, I refuse to believe that Tamiko all of a sudden has no feelings for Reggie. She stated so. Now, all of a sudden he's a stalker and she went after him. I think it would have been more poignant to show why Tamiko felt drawn to Reggie. She lost her virginity to him. Khalil's insecurities about their relationship should have been addressed. This has been going on since high school. The whole money thing with Cassandra was not needed. She could also be an old flame that Khalil lusted for, but wasn't feeling. The main issue to me was the Reggie and Tamiko relationship. I think part 2 would have been better if those relationships were explored showing the difference between physical and emotional connection. Then we could address the root cause of the marriage problems. Especially Khalil's lack of connection with Tamiko that drives her to seek support from Reggie. Those whole crazy plot and contract was not needed. We know sports players cheat anyway. So no need for a contract for him to stray. Just needed someone from his past to come in when Khalil needed her while he doubted his marriage or felt insecure about Reggie being in the picture. The whole Devon thing was just not right. I wasn't feeling it or him and Cassandra. That whole bedroom scene in the end just didn't make sense and seemed forced. The fact that all 3 were in cahoots to break up Khalil and Tamiko so he could be a top 5 player and not top 20 was just too much. These were guys playing for the Miami Heat and Dallas Cowboys! I just was buying it. Besides that, Jenesqua is really good. I couldn't put the book down.

Khalil and Tamiko were both making mistakes within their marriage. Cassie got what she deserved in the beginning and that should've been enough reason for her to leave Khalil alone all together. Reggie seemed a bit too needy when it came to his feelings for Tamiko and I couldn't believe he was so crazy over her knowing she belonged to someone else. Linda sure helped Khalil and Tamiko put things into perspective. They were going about their issues in the wrong way until they got the help they needed. I was shocked at Devon but then again when he supposedly missed and ratted Khalil out was a clear indicator he was up to no good. At times I couldn't take Tamiko serious because of some of her actions. It was almost as if it was alright for her to make mistakes and lie but when it came to Khalil she was too stubborn to forgive. I'm glad things worked out for the best and those involved in trying to destroy Khalil and Tamiko got everything due to them.

OMG I was so mad at both Tam and Khalil I was mad at her for what she did and mad at him for forgiving her so easily. Like I know he loves his wife but after she declared her love and made him go to counseling for her to do that I was screaming UGH NOOOO. Like for real then she had the nerve to get mad because he took the money I seriously was like dude put her in her place because he was really trying to fix what he had done and she ruined it again. I honestly can say I did not like her character at all in this book she was just immature in the entire relationship this time around. In the end I guess I'm glad it all worked out but part of me wanted him to kick her to the curb. LOL The story itself was good and definitely worth the read. I wish we could have read more about Ty and Maribel and that whole relationship. Maybe in the next book. In any case this was a good story overall and I wouldn't mind reading more from this aurthor.
