About the Author
Darrel Hess is professor of geography at City College of San Francisco, where he served as chair of the Earth Sciences department from 1995-2009. He regularly teaches physical geography, economic geography, and human geography. Hess received his B.A. in geography from UC Berkeley and his M.A. in geography from UCLA. Before graduate school he served in the Peace Corps in Korea, and before teaching full-time he worked as a writer, photographer, and audiovisual producer.
Hess served as T.A. to Tom McKnight at UCLA. He began working with McKnight and Pearson as author of the text’s Study Guide starting in the Fourth Edition and as author for the Lab Manual starting in the Fifth Edition. He became a full time co-author of the Ninth Edition, and became sole author of the Tenth Edition. Hess has contributed to the development of the Geoscience Animation Library and has partnered with many geoscience teachers and writers in the development of the CA edition.

Great book full of interesting and useful information

While I am not happy about having to take yet another class for school, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. It's spiral bound so pages are easy to turn and the colors included are bright and vibrant. This book needs to be bought used if you are taking a class on campus as there are assignments that need to be pulled out and turned in. If you are taking an online class where you just had to read the info you may be able to purchase used. Either way, this book contains excellent information and will definitely help you learn more about this fascinating subject.

UNSATISFIED with this Manual Very USED and Not Useful...Ended up paying for Copies from My cllassmate Text!!!!

I rented Physical Geography Laboratory Manual for McKnight's Physical Geography: A Landscape Appreciation for $30.00 and was not happy with the entire manual!! All of the Exercises were torn out and through the Semester I had to rely on a Class mate to copy each exercise, which cost me more money at 10 Cents per sheet!!
